    I am 6’ 195lbs. I have a 2023 Honda 300L and I find the suspension perfect. If you want to jump the bike then buy a bike for jumping. This bike is amazing to hop on ride on the highway; or any sweet trail.

    I had a chance to ride it, it indeed feels really light. Gotta add that standard and pro version have different brake calipers. Both calipers are made by Chinse companies, so I am not entirely sure what the difference is

    I have two dr 400 Suzukis here in South Africa, one a drz 400z the other a dr 400sm, both super reliable, also have two dl650 vstroms one an 05 the other an 07. Have had no issues compared to my 07 gs1200 BMW. Suzuki is the best always, BMW unreliable. Cheers your commentary is spot on. Keep up the good work.

    So KTM had a 990 adventurer, then they got rid of it, then they released a 1090, a 1190, a 1290, then they released a 790, then they replaced it with a 890, and now they're going back to the 990? any guesses on how long will it stay a 990 for until they bump it up to a 1090? and then a 1190? and then a 1290? and on and on.

    Even with 19/17 wheels, the 390 adventure looks awesome. I just hope it’s light enough and packed with features like the previous model. The CF Moto 450 is a bit disappointing given its weight, and not longer a contender. It would be nice if the KTM comes with bigger wheels but not a deal breaker imo.

    So were is kawi in all this? A new versys 500x with 19 17 or 21 18 would be something. As for auto they already have it on the hybrid, just imagine a versy with 21 18 , auto and a reverse!

    Thanks for another informative video; I do have a laugh when you say a 900+ cc bike is a Mid Range! Maybe I am old school. Mid Range to me was 600cc to 800cc. A 900cc is a dick short of a 1,000cc engine...that is a big bike... OK safe travels. David...Adelaide....Triumph Scrambler 1200 a big bike....LOL....

    A WR350R or WR500R is what we want from Yamaha, 135kg wet. A T700 is 205kg, so it’s like carrying a passenger everywhere you ride. And good luck lifting it back up if you venture off the blacktop.

    I have missed one point on my previous comment. The CFmoto 450MT is probably close to a unicorn ADV bike. I watched a German video and one of the first things he mentioned was the ADV unicorn bike, which wasn't what I was thinking of. Though I should state I have worked out that an adventure bike is not what I really want. I don't ride far enough or travel by bike. If I want long distance comfort I would buy a cheap car! The 450MT is a bike that was a known factor, was coming out and ticked a lot of boxes ( I preordered mine ). The price was good and I really wanted to be able to travel on it. Yes it will do the work trip, blast up the hwy, have enough range and handle off road. So in that sense it is a do all bike.

    The thinking of the manufacturers is so misaligned with what we need. I know that they see motorcycles the same way that fishermen see lures. Not what's good for the fish. They just want us to hand over money, and they don't care how much we like the bikes after we've done that any more than the fishermen care how much the fish enjoys the lure after the barb bites home. But still.... Automatic bikes, but they won't put cruise control as standard on their ride by wire bikes? I mean auto might be useful if you've got a disability, or if you want a left hand brake, but for most of us... Why? These are litre bikes. If you're commuting you can just leave it in first or second and never bother changing gears. If you're on the highway, leave it in top and never bother changing gears. The only place you're swapping cogs is sporty riding on a twisting road, which is the last place you want the bike to randomly change gears right on the limit of traction and put you in a ditch. It's utterly useless. But cruise control, that lets you crack out the hundreds of km that the gigantic tanks let you do...no, they're not putting that on though it would cost virtually nothing to add. Just a software update. Insane.

    What I would like is an enduro bike that is streetable and comfortable enough to sit on for a slightly longer ride. To me that is an hour or two of blacktop in one sitting and I mean sitting as I have never been comfortable on any bike for over 40min. while sitting. The DRZ400 would be just about right for size, capabilty and max. weight. If it had taller gearing in the 5th and a 6th gear. Service intervals of 5000km would be enough. I have the CFmoto 450MT. I will try and do some over night camping off it in West Oz this spring. My limited time riding it ( 600km ) hasn't quite conviniced me that I will end up keeping it in the long term. At this stage it is not my unicorn bike for what I want. Too bulky and heavy, otherwise great, especially on the road and formed gravel roads/fire breaks. But I still prefer a trail bike style machine. I do have a KTM 2016 350 enduro. More power than I need , light weight and I enjoy the maintenance time as I usually do this as a group with my brother inlaw and nephew. It's our family time.

    I watched a press release of the Norden X in South Africa and thought it handled everything quite well - including a low side on a gravel road. I would have thought there would have been a number of users that would've liked the overall handling - especially given the tall suspension.

    I would only be interested in a 390 adventure with a 21 in spoked front wheel . Hopefully they will also address the riding position issue . The currant model is off somehow . Demo one just did not like the feel . I have my finders cross this could my solution for smaller bike . Thanks for the update.

    The only thing that I didn’t like about the ideo is that you kept referring to the US as America. There is no country named America. I keep asking people to proof me wrong. But, there is a continent (yes one and not two like the empire of the US wants it to be) officially named America. And it was named that back in 1507, hundreds of years before the US became a country. There are 34 countries in America and everyone from any of them are Americans, not just people from the US. In America, the movement to reclaim our rightful title of Americans for all people and America for our continent is small but growing and picking up speed. Regardless of what Unitedstatians (literal translation of the word Estadounidenses, which is the most common way of referring to people from the US in Spanish speaking countries) think, we see our continent as one, not two. Hence the futbol (soccer for Unitedstatians) American Cup. No, it does not refer to some futbol championship in the US, but rather a continent wide tournament. The division of our continent into two different continents took place just a handful of years after the US became a country. Only proof that the US has tried to control the continent right from the beginning. And to be honest, based on what I have seen from people from Europe, they know that America is not the name of a country. During the world Cup in Brazil, I saw an European fan (can't remember the country, I think it was a Swedish) when asked if he was enjoying the World Cup he stated, and I quote, "I’d always wanted to come to America... I am very happy to be here in America..." During the semi finals as Germans were leaving a stadium after winning that match, some Germans were asked who they thought was going to win the Cup. One German fan stated, "We are going to win it! We are going all the way. We are going to take the cup away from America and take back to Europe." I loved watching that! Obviously those people new that they were not in the US and that the US has never won the men’s World Cup. The last country to do so at that time was Brazil. Which is an American country. And notice they said America and not Americas, like Unitedstatians like to say. That is right baby, one continent, the way 43 countries in America sees it. Of course the other two countries being the US and itKe booty kissing neighbors, the Canadians.

    You may have heard of the CCM GP450. A single cylinder 21/18 wheel size proper off road bike but with long range capabilities - 20l tank - made by a small company based in England. Stopped building it in 2018. They put a price tag of between £8k and £12k on it and they sold every one they could build. Even today used ones are being sold for between £3kand £5k. So I reckon a big manufacturer version of same will do very well. BTW I have ridden approx 12k miles on the CCM.

    The 800 Rally was weighed roadworthy, with 1 liter of fuel in it - 162 kg! Sure, no environmental rubbish or ABS, but that's impressively light ..... I want one!

    There has already been reports of excessive cam wear on the new 990 Dukes also. The new 990 engine is not even close to the quality of the old V-twin 990 engine.

    Getting a bit worried about the weight on the 2025 390 ADV/Enduro. My limited time on the 2017 CRF250 Rally that I picked up recently, compared with my 250EXCF, has me really realizing that for the type of dualsport riding I would want to do on the 390, weight is super important. Would definitely opt for the lighter Enduro R version for starters, but even that if its much above ~350 lbs (160kg) I will have to think twice. Might make me upgrade from the 250 Rally to a 300, perhaps the KLX300, to keep the weight reasonable and still get moderate performance. Thanks for the update Solid!!

    Doesn’t auto gearbox mean ride by wire is mandatory? Definitely not for the T7 then. Forward intakes speculated for the T7 are probably more geared to feeding dust free air to the filter rather then breathing in its own dust via an under seat feed.

    Camshaft issues are with the 19 to 22 790 and 890 models. 2023 onwards both models have revised internals.

    Not only have we had issues getting our hands on the T7 in the USA - we only got one version of it! That and the fact that the WR250R is gone and no 300cc replacement has me saying goodbye to Yamaha. They have abandoned us so I am done with them. As an average American blue collar worker I could stretch the budget a little and afford to buy BMW think: 1150, F650, F800, and X Challenge. They now have priced themselves beyond mine and almost all of the people I ride with. The 310 was a poor attempt to bring guys like me back. My current stable includes a Gen 3 KLR - cheap and capable, a CRF Rally, CT125 Trail, and early 80s BMW R80 so no newer BMW and no Yamaha. 2 years ago I would have bought a T7 no question now I do not see it happening.

      Yamaha has a factory in France that produces a lot more Teneres than the Japan plant where USA and many other places get their bikes which is why Europe gets so many options

    The KTM cam issue is actually an issue with oil galleries in the head and there is supposedly a redesigned head now.
